Ezequiel Sanucci was born on the 5th of July 1971 in San Fernando, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of 11 years old he discovered his talent to dance and one year later and after much insistence, his mother decided to take him to a ballet school, although his desire was to dance like Michael Jackson. At this school, he met and got inspired by great artists as Julio Bocca, Maximiliano Guerra, Elenora Cassano and by class mates as Paloma Herrera or Iñaki Urlezaga. His professional career began at an early age and, after winning awards and dancing as a soloist in several of the largest dance companies in Argentina, he went at the age of 22 years old with a scholarship to Europe. He continued his career in Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany and Holland, country where he currently resides, and he danced on tours in Europe, USA, South America, the Caribbean and Africa.
His career is characterized by the versatility and the variety of styles. He worked for more than 50 choreographers and dance companies where he danced in top or high level techniques and styles as diverse as contemporary dance, improvisation, contact improvisation, tango, ballet, jazz, musicals, modern techniques, African dance, dance theater, acting, street theater, ect. All this experience is a great help and inspiration for him to teach and to create his own choreographies.

Dance education
Ezequiel Sanucci graduated with the highest qualifications of term at the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He also got scholarships to study at the Victor Ullate School in Madrid, Spain; the Ecole Superior de Danse Rosella Hightower in Cannes, France and at the Codarts Rotterdamse Dansacademie in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
In 2012 he received a scholarship for development from the Fonds Podiumkunsten to follow master studies for professional tango in Buenos Aires.
Experience as a dancer
With 14 years old he started his professional dance carrier in his native Argentina. Already with 18 years old he was dancing as a soloist ballet dancer at companies as the Ballet del Teatro Colón, the Maximiliano Guerra Joven Ballet and at the Julio Bocca Ballet Argentino. He worked as actor and soloist dancer at the Argentinean television ATC in the program 'Locos de los pies a la cabeza', amongst other works he did.
He danced in The Netherlands at choreographies by Internationaal Danstheater (Lonneke van Leth, Alida Doors en Jos Groenier), Leine & Roebana, Djazzex (Glen van der Hoff, Neel Verdoorn, and Patrick Delcroix), Meekers Uitgesproken Dans (Arthur Rosenfeld en Ingrid Dalmijer), Lonneke van Leth, Suzy Block, Sanne van de Put, David Middendorp, Gabriella Maiorino, Jennifer Hanna, Vincent Verburg, Val Suarez, Jorge Vazquez, Randall Scott, Eddie de Bie, Gabriella Suarez, Monica Blok amongst others.
In Germany he danced for Gabrielle Staiger and Christina Perera; in Switzerland for Stadttheater Luzern, Cie. Sans Filtre and Ballet Junior; and in Curaçao and Senegal for Sabine Linz en Ciré Beye, amongst others.
Tango
Ezequiel Sanucci studied tango with Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne, DNI Tango, Claudia Jakobsen, Ezequiel Farfaro, Mariana Dragone, Martin Foronda, Lalo & Mirta, Roberto & Maricel and he danced for tango and/or tango fusion choreographers as Osvaldo Sotto, Margarita Fernandez, Daniel Colombino, Julio Lopez in Argentina, Lalo Diaz & Mirta Campos and Gabriela Suarez & Claudia Jakobsen in Holland. As well he danced tango at films directed by Sharelly Emanuelson and Colin van Heezik.
He performed tango demonstrations at Club Villa Malcolm in Buenos Aires, Muziektheater, The Troppenmuseum, Vondelpark Openluchttheater, Academia de Tango and The Uitmarkt in Amsterdam, and at festivals "Mi Amberes Querido"(Belgium), Días Latinos and Noordwijk Danst together with tango orquestras such as Alfredo Marcucci, Sexteto Milonguero, Los Tiatas, Junta Cadáveres or Racing Club Tango.
Experience as a Choreographer
Since 2006 Ezequiel Sanucci created various choreographies at the production houses Dansmakers and Dansateliers in The Netherlands. His first works were contemporary dance but since 2008 he dedicates himself to research on the fusion between tango and contemporary dance, or other techniques and disciplines. Since then, he created his own style of Contemporary Tango. With it, he won in 2010 the 1st prize at the contest Rabotheater Open Podium Twente in the Netherlands and his style has been described as highly original, innovative, moving and that it has the sensuality of Tango.
His works have been seen in the Netherlands at very important festivals and theaters such as Danstheater Lucent, DeLaMar Theater,Voorjaarsontwaaken in Korzo Theater, Vondelpark Openluchttheater, Fringe Festival, Festival Mundial, Festival ZwArt, Dansmakers Smartzaal, Rabotheater Hengelo, Onze Lieve Vrouw Theater, ColourDance Festival, Open Dans, Twools Unlimeted, Dans in de Wereld, Festival XL, One NightDance in Dansateliers Studiotheater and in tango milongas and festivals such as Dias Latinos, Academia de Tango, Cuartito Azul, Tango Talks, Tango Centro and Poortgebouw, among others. His works were also presented at major festivals in Germany, Italy, Belgium, Greece, Venezuela, Mexico and Argentina as the Cambalache Festival, TangoGreece Festival, NeoTangoRave of PhantasTango.
Ezequiel is currently working as a dancer and choreographer at the International Danstheatre. He is taking part in the production "Puur Barbaars" that will celebrate the 50th anniversary of this prestigious dance company.Tango fusion
Ezequiel Sanucci did a choreographic research project at Dansmakers about how to fuse tango and contemporary dance creating his own style. As a result of this research he created few dance pieces as in 2008 ´Tango Residence Permite´ a fusion between tango, contemporary dance, theater and video and in 2009 "Sin Rumbo" a contemporary tango duet special created for the festival Noordwijk Danst. He also made a tango choreography together with Lonneke van Leth for Theatergroep de Appel which was performed at Oerol Festival. In 2010 he did "Tango Lab", a research project at Dansmakers about the fusion between tango and contemporary dance in which he developed even more his style. In 2011 he did the location project "Tango Thuis" and a contemporary tango piece for the Internationaal Danstheater.
He taught his style at Codarts and at tango festivals and at this moment he is researching in the fusion of contact improvisation and tango.
Experience as a Dance Teacher
Ezequiel gave workshops of Tango, Contact Tango and/or Contemporary Tango at schools and festival as Codarts (Rotterdamse Dansacademie), Dansacademie Maasmechelen, Festival Dias Latinos, Academia de tango, Taboe Tango Camp, NeoTango Rave, PhantasTango, Ponderosa, Rotterdam Tango Transformations, Contact Tango Amsterdam and Contact Zone.
As well, he was for three years a regular ballet teacher at the dance studio Dancestreet in Amsterdam. He had worked as rehearsal director and dance teacher at Meekers Uitgesproken Dans and Sur Mundo Dance Project. Since 2000 he has been teaching ballet, tango, partnering and contemporary dance classes and workshops at Dansmakers, Ballet van Leth, Cie. Sans Filtre, Gabriella Maiorino, Gabrielle Staiger's Arazzo Tanztheater, Festival Dias Latinos, Crea, Ex Nunc, Dansacademie Maasmechelen, Balletschool Joke de Backer and Escuela Karina Roldan in Buenos Aires.
